Leduc Lethwei wanted to immortalize his massive retirement fight and for reaching 2 million fans on his Facebook page. The fight took place took place in Phnom Penh, Cambodia on November 5th, 2023.
When Dave arrived at the airport in Phnom Penh, he was welcomed by hundreds and hundreds of media and fans. It was unbelievable.
The build-up for this fight has been so big, that for the first time in history, the Prime Minister of Cambodia has invited both fighters to meet before the fight at parliament.
Two entire countries watched this historic match: Myanmar has a population of 55 million, while Cambodia has 16 million and this match will oppose the two biggest stars of each country. After a remarkable career, fighting in Thailand, Japan, USA, Myanmar, Dave put everything on the line by going in enemy territory and taking on the biggest star in Cambodia who has 170 fights, 159 wins, 70 KOs, and has only been KOed once in his entire career.
The Last Dance was be free to watch on Facebook and YouTube around the world and was billed as Dave’s final fight. Over 40,000 people came to watch the event live!
A combined of 19.6 million people watched the event live. The match was fought with traditional ropes on the hands and only one round of 9 minutes. No breaks, no water, no sitting down. One round.
